Night spots closed again in Malta as virus cases surge
Malta will close its bars and night clubs once again after a surge in coronavirus cases in the Mediterranean island state, Health Minister Chris Fearne said in an AFP report.
It said the measure, to take effect on Wednesday will also concern sports facilities and social clubs, said Fearne, who is also deputy prime minister.
Mass gatherings in public have been restricted to 15 people, while restaurants and shops have been allowed to remain open.
Health superintendent Charmaine Gauci, quoted by AFP, said the new “more controlling” measures are aimed at ensuring social distancing.
