Kings XI Punjab beat Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday by 8 wickets in Sharjah in the Indian Premier League.

Chris Gayle smashed 53 in his first outing this Indian Premier League season to give Kings XI Punjab their second win of the Twenty20 tournament.

Gayle, who recently recovered from a stomach bug, smashed five sixes in his 45-ball knock to announce his arrival in the UAE.

Kings XI Punjab still languish at the bottom of the eight-team table with two wins from eight games in the Twenty20 tournament.

Kings XI Punjab celebrated its second win — the first was also against Bangalore three weeks ago — with Nicholas Pooran hitting the last ball for six.
Punjab overhauled Bangalore’s 171-7 with 177-2.

Earlier Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli made 48 before Chris Morris’ late-order cameo propelled Bangalore to 171 for six after electing to bat first.
