Let’s Reset Sri Lanka: Advocata organizes conference

COLOMBO: The Advocata Institute has organized the Reform Now conference, to be held Aug. 5 and 6 on the theme ‘Let’s Reset Sri Lanka.’

This event has brought together policymakers, international experts, thought leaders, the business community, civil society and citizens of Sri Lanka to discuss reforms needed to overcome the current crisis.

The conference contains multiple expert panels with local and global thinkers and academics on a range of economic and social issues. This includes vital reforms in areas such as taxation, State Owned Enterprise, social safety nets, trade policy and land policy.

The two-day forum is featuring eminent experts including Dr. Veerathai Santiprabhob, former Governor of the (Central) Bank of Thailand, who delivers the keynote, and will later participate in a fireside chat with Mr. Murtaza Jafferjee, chairperson of Advocata.

Prof. Premachandra Athukorala from the Australian National University will be delivering his remarks on the second day of the conference.

The event commences with remarks from the President of Sri Lanka, Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe.
