Expolanka Holdings, Lanka IOC drive CSE All-Share index up
COLOMBO: Sri Lankan shares closed higher, lifted by strong gains in industrials and consumer staples.
The CSE All-Share index closed 1.02% higher at 8,602.97, exchange data showed.
Conglomerate Expolanka Holdings Plc and Lanka IOC Plc were the top boosts to the index, rising 9.2% and 11.5%, respectively.
Trading volume on the CSE All-Share index fell to 56.2 million shares from 69.2 million shares in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover was 1.25 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($3.44 million), according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net buyers in the equity market, purchasing 111.7 million rupees of shares, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 1.24 billion rupees, data showed.
