Podi Lessie’s weapons found at his grandmother’s house

A firearm and a revolver belonging to notorious gangster Arumahandi Janith Madusanka De Silva alias Podi Lessi were detected from the backyard of the suspect’s grandmother’s house at Telwatta in Meetiyagoda police division in Galle on Saturday, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) disclosed.

Following information revealed by Podi Lessie who is currently under the custody of CID on detention orders, CID officials detected the above weapons. The CID officials had accompanied Podi Lessie to the location where the arms were recovered.

ASP Meril Ranjan Lamahewa on the directions of DIG Pahti Prasad Ranasinghe and SSP Nishantha De Zoyza of the CID made the detection.
