ManoG asks President for Moratorium on construction of new religious sites

COLOMBO: Colombo district MP and TPA leader Mano Ganesan has asked President Ranil Wickremasinghe to impose a moratorium on construction of any new religious site anywhere in Sri Lanka.

Saying “Not Gods but GodMen have gone crazy,” the TPA leader stated in his tweet, tagging President Wickremasinghe, that “such moratorium shall apply to all religions in all parts of country.”

Ganesan requested Buddha Sasana Minister Vidhura Wickramanayake under whom departments of all the religions are placed along with Archeological department to provide support to this request.

Mano Ganesan has tagged and demanded unanimous support from opposition and SJB leader Sajith Premadasa and NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake for such a moratorium.

Mano Ganesan’s appeal for a moratorium is being appreciated as a step aimed at promoting communal harmony and ethnic reconciliation.
