Kurunegala city closed

Police have ordered the closure of all business establishments in Kurunegala. The decision was taken due to a significant number of cases being reported within the Kurunegala city limits.

Eight employees of the Kurunegala Municipal Council have also been diagnosed with the virus and it is reported that all of them are residents of the same village.

Police say they will take legal action against all those who violate the order.

Apart from the Western Province, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Kurunegala District in recent days.
