The wedding ceremony held at a luxury hotel in Colombo amid curfew has been stopped

Curfew has been imposed in the Western Province from midnight yesterday and all public gatherings, including weddings, have been banned, police said.

Despite this, a wedding ceremony was organized at a luxury hotel in Colombo today (30) and it is reported that nearly 40 people have participated in it.

According to some media reports, the wedding was organized by a close associate of a powerful politician.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the event has been halted due to police intervention and a special investigation has been launched into the organization of the event despite the ban on all events.
