Remittances improve in first 9 months of 2023

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka has recorded a marginal decrease in workers’ remittances in September 2023 compared to August 2023.
According to official figures, workers’ remittances recorded in September were at $482.4 million, as opposed to August 2023, when the inflows reached $499.2 million.
However, the cumulative figure for January-September 2023 has improved and was at $4,345.1 million. This is an increase of 68.8% compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
