TNA and Mano Ganesan’s party greet Joe Biden, Kamala Harris

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and the Tamil Progressive Alliance have congratulated US President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

“As the premier political party representing the Tamil People in Sri Lanka, we congratulate President_elect_Joe_Biden and Vice President elect @KamalaHarris on a momentous victory,” the TNA said in a Twitter post.

Colombo district MP Mano Ganesan tweeted: “Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) of Sri Lanka congratulates President-Elect @JoeBiden for his victory in the election that generated the highest voter turnout in decades.”

He added: “Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) of Sri Lanka congratulates Vice President-Elect @KamalaHarris for the victory & being elected as the first woman to the said office in the election that generated the highest voter turnout in decades.”

In the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, meanwhile, opposition leader M. K. Stalin said on Twitter: “Especially pleased that American people has chosen a woman with Tamil heritage as their next Vice-President in this historic election.”
