Importance of learning Hindi highlighted in Jaffna

Consulate General of India, Jaffna, organized the celebrations of Vishwa Hindi Diwas 2024 on 19 Jan 2023 at the premises of the Consulate.

The event saw participation from Hindi students of the India Corner and Consulate officials.

Consul General Shri Raakesh Natraj addressed the gathering and delivered the keynote address during the event.

In his address, the Consul General talked about the importance of learning Hindi, one of the world’s most widely spoken languages, and underscored that learning a language opens up economic opportunities.

Consul General, while appreciating the Tamil students of the Northern Province pursuing Hindi in India, Corner said that learning the language helps understand people and the culture connected with the language.

The Consul General also appreciated the students of India Corner for their interest in learning the Hindi language and stated that learning a new language different from the medium of instruction will help one understand their surroundings completely.

The event saw cultural performances, speeches about Indian freedom fighters, singing and dancing by the students of the India Corner.
