Jaffna students gain from educational links with India
Two students, Mohammadh Jawusi Fathima Aashifa and Radhakrishnan Yesindan, from the Department of Engineering, University of Jaffna, have been selected for a prestigious six-month research internship program at the renowned Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras).
This opportunity, facilitated by the MoU signed between the two institutions and through the Consulate General of India, Jaffna, highlights India’s commitment to enhancing academic collaboration and student exchange programs between India and Sri Lanka.
The students will benefit from the guidance of qualified processors while also receiving a stipend.
Felicitating the students, Consul General Shri. Raakesh Natraj also encouraged more students of the University of Jaffna to take advantage of the opportunity to collaborate with institutes of excellence in India.
The Consul General also met and discussed possibilities of further collaboration with Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna members, who embarked on an academic visit to the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore.
The members of the Faculty of Agriculture gained first-hand knowledge of the efforts of TNAU’s industry and community outreach programs and discussed avenues for joint research.
