Order prevents Maithripala from functioning as SLFP chairman

Colombo District Court issued an interim injunction preventing former President Maithripala Sirisena from functioning as the chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).

District Court Judge Sandun Vithana delivered the order following a complaint filed by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

A court interim injunction order was issued against removing MPs Duminda Dissanayake, Lasantha Alagiyawanna, and Mahinda Amaraweera from their posts in the SLFP.
