Bangladesh, Sri Lanka leaders for Delhi ceremony
India is likely to invite leaders of several neighboring countries, including Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony over the weekend.
Modi is all set to become prime minister for a historic third consecutive term, with the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning 293 seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
The people cited above said the top leaders of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and Mauritius are likely to be among the foreign leaders invited to Modi’s oath-taking ceremony.
US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and French President Emmanuel Macron were among dozens of world leaders who congratulated Prime Minister Modi.
