Yoga Event at Chief Secretary’s Office, Jaffna
In the run-up to the International Day of Yoga 2024, the Consulate General of India in Jaffna organized two Yoga demonstration events.
The first event was held at the Office of Chief Secretariat, Jaffna, from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., and the second took place at the Auditorium Hall of Chief Secretariat from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Several dignitaries participated in the events, including Consul General Shri. Sai Murali, Shri. Ram Mahesh (Head of Chancery), L. Ilaangovan (Chief Secretary, Northern Province), Mrs. Annet Ninthusha (Assistant Chief Secretary), Sujievaa Sivathas (Commissioner Motor Traffic), P. Vageshan (Secretary of Ministry of Women’s Affairs), A. Lathumeera (Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Women’s Affairs), and other Secretariat staff.
Consul General Shri. Sai Murali inaugurated the event and motivated the participants for their enthusiasm. He highlighted the numerous benefits of practicing Yoga and spoke about potential future collaborations in various spheres within the Northern Province.
He also thanked the Office of Chief Secretariat, Northern Province, for their excellent arrangements.
The first event at the Office of Chief Secretariat saw the participation of around 50 staff members.
The second event at the Auditorium featured a Yoga workshop on “Therapeutic Yoga for Healthy Life,” conducted by Dr. Anushuya, an Ayurvedic Medical Officer from Pasayioor.
Around 150 members participated in the workshop, learning the therapeutic aspects of Yoga for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
