Investors ‘are still taking a wait-and-see approach’

The broader All Share Index closed up 0.01 percent, or 1.08 points, at 11,294, while the more liquid S&P SL20 Index closed down 0.09 percent, or 2.91 points, at 3,223.

“The shaky sentiment continued today with the market recording its lowest turnover year-to-date,” Softlogic Stockbrokers said.

“It was a bit of a mixed bag with the ASPI marginally up and the S&P down.”

“Investors are still taking a wait-and-see approach. There’s a bit of volatility.”

One crossing was recorded on the day; Central Finance Plc contributed 12 percent of the turnover, and the share closed flat at 105.25.

Top contributors to the ASPI were Ceylinco Holdings Plc (up at 2,500.00), Melstacorp Plc (up at 80.00), and Hatton National Bank Plc (up at 184.00).
