Minister Ali Sabry’s mother passes away

Sri Lankan foreign minister Ali Sabry’s mother, Fathima Zareena Uvais,81,passed away peacefully in Colombo on Sunday night on Sept.9

The minister who is currently in Geneva attending the UNHRC conference will be returning home on Monday to pay his last respects to his mother.

Marhoom Fathima Zareena was the beloved wife of Marhoom M.S.M Uvais of Mudaliyar Villa , Katukurunda, Kalutara.

She was the daughter of Marhoom Mawjood Hajiar and Marhooma Sithy Ruqaiya of Veyangalla

She was the beloved mother of Fathima Hijazy Mohideen (retired Deputy Principal, Zahira College) Late Mohamed Ali Iqbal , M.U.M. Ali Sabry (Foreign Minister), Fathima Ilma Mohamed Uvais, Fathima Illyeen ( KSA ) and Mohamed Uvais ( Former Chairman Petroleum Corporation)

Mother-in- law of, Hijazy Rauf, Sarah Sabry,

H.M.Zamzam, Nusrath Mohideen, Abdul Cader Shaheed.

Janaza will leave residence 18/1, Sudarshana Road, Dehiwela for burial at Dehiwela Jummah Masjid at 7.00 pm tomorrow, Monday, 9th of September.
