Jaishankar meets Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, currently on an official visit to Sri Lanka, met with former Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the former President’s private residence in Colombo.

The two leaders engaged in a special discussion focused on bilateral relations and future cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, former President Wickremesinghe expressed his confidence that the new government would uphold and continue the strong relationship with India established during his tenure.

The Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Santosh Jha, Deputy High Commissioner Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, and the former President’s Senior Advisor, Mr. Ruwan Wijewardene, were also present at the discussion, along with other officials.

The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to continue working closely on regional issues, economic cooperation, and shared strategic interests as Sri Lanka and India look to strengthen their historically strong diplomatic relationship.
