Budget debate enters committee stage on Monday

COLOMBO: The debate of the Committee Stage or the third reading of the budget proposal is set to commence on Monday (23).

It will conclude on Dec. 10 and the vote on the third reading will be held at 5 p.m. on that day.

The second reading of the 2021 budget was passed in Parliament on Saturday.

The number of MPs voting in favor was 151 and 52 have voted against the Budget.
