Adani Group Backs Out of $1 Billion Sri Lanka Wind Project Due to Delays

Adani Green Energy has decided to withdraw from its proposed $1 billion wind energy project in Sri Lanka.
Although the company had secured most necessary approvals, delays related to environmental clearances and an ongoing Supreme Court case led to its decision to step back.
Adani has formally informed Sri Lanka’s Board of Investment (BOI) of its “respectful withdrawal”, while expressing willingness to explore future opportunities in the country.
A new committee has been formed to review and renegotiate the project terms, but official statements from both Adani Group and Sri Lankan authorities are still awaited.
