Automobile Manufacturers’ delegation in key talks

A delegation of 18 members from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) graced Sri Lanka from March 17 to 18.

The delegation comprised representatives from prominent Indian vehicle manufacturers across various segments, including commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers.

During their visit, the delegation met with Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Handunneththi, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Chathuranga Abeysinghe.

Furthermore, they engaged in meetings with senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, and members of the Ceylon Motor Traders Association.

The delegation also had the privilege of meeting Deputy High Commissioner of India, Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, and provided him with an overview of the operations of Indian automobile companies in Sri Lanka.

This visit further solidifies the economic partnership between India and Sri Lanka, promoting collaboration and fostering growth in the automobile industry.
