Party Leaders Meeting on Impact of US Tariffs

A meeting will take place on Thursday at 11 am at the Presidential Secretariat, where President Anura Kumara Disanayake will engage in discussions with opposition party leaders about the impact of the new US reciprocal tariff system on Sri Lanka.

During this meeting, the steps the government has already implemented in response to the new US import tax policy are expected to be outlined.

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he would temporarily lower new tariffs on many countries, even as he raised them further on imports from China, in a sudden reversal.
