Nestle Lanka, Tokyo Cement gains boost Sri Lanka stock market
COLOMBO: Sri Lanka stocks closed 0.09 percent higher on Monday pushed by index heavy Expolanka, Nestle Lanka and Tokyo Cement Company, recovering from the last weeks fall, Economy Next reported citing Colombo Stock exchange provisional data .
Colombo’s All share price index gained 0.09 percent or 5.76 points to close at 6,622.71
The main index started positive and increased during the Mid-day on volatile trading but fell to a daily low at 6,620.84 during the last hour into trading but picked up to close marginally high, Economy Next reported.
The S&P SL20 index of more liquid stocks gained 0.47 percent or 12.12 points to close at 2,585.07.
The market turnover was 2.5 billion rupees with 85 stocks gaining and 89 falling.
Expolanka Holdings contributed most to the ASPI gain, gaining 1.40 rupees a share to close at 27.00 rupees.
Nestle Lanka Plc gained 32.490 rupees a share to close at 1,232.30 rupees and Tokyo Cement Company closed 4.50 rupees higher at 75.30 rupees a share, Economy Next reported.
