Indigenous Medical Officers call to remove laws banning cannabis in Sri Lanka

All Ceylon Indigenous Medical Association has called on the government to relax the domestic laws in line with the United Nations’ move to remove cannabis from its status as a “dangerous drug”.
Speaking at a press conference in Colombo today the association said government should take action to legalize cannabis and to strengthen the economy.
Consultant of the Association Dr Danister L Perera said medicine value of cannabis is high and some countries have relaxed laws enabling medicine production using them.
