Sajith Premadasa congratulates President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris

COLOMBO: Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has joined political leaders across the globe who congratulated US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Congratulations to President @JoeBiden and Vice President @KamalaHarris. I wish you both the very best on behalf of all Sri Lankans,” the Colombo district Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP said in a Twitter post.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Biden and Harris in Twitter messages.

Modi said: “My warmest congratulations to @JoeBiden on his assumption of office as President of the United States of America. I look forward to working with him to strengthen India-US strategic partnership.”

Modi said in another Tweet: Congratulations to @KamalaHarris on being sworn-in as @VP. It is a historic occasion. Looking forward to interacting with her to make India-USA relations more robust. The India-USA partnership is beneficial for our planet.”

The prime minister also said: The India-US partnership is based on shared values. We have a substantial and multifaceted bilateral agenda, growing economic engagement and vibrant people to people linkages. Committed to working with President @JoeBiden to take the India-US partnership to even greater heights.”
