People in Sri Lanka are requested to display the national flag
he Government has requested the public to display the National Flag from February 01 to 07 at all Residences, shops, government and private offices and vehicles in view of the 73rd Independence Day celebrations.
The State Ministry of National Security, Home affairs and Disaster Management has instructed all Heads of Government Institutions to light up all government buildings on February 03 and 04 to celebrate this special occasion.
The 73rd Independence Day celebrations will be held under the theme “An Affluent Tomorrow Prosperous Motherland” at Independence Square, Colombo.
“The program will be conducted by Chamal Rajapaksa, State Minister of National Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management on the guidance of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa,” a statement issued by the Information Department said.
