Ramesh Shanmuganthan appointed director of top Sri Lanka bank
COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s Nations Trust Bank said Ramesh Shanmuganthan has been appointed as Non-Executive Director with effect from January 25, 2021.
Nations Trust Bank is among the top 15 business establishments in Sri Lanka as ranked by Business Today.
Having over 25-years’ experience in the digital and Information Technology sector, Shanmuganthan currently serves as an Executive Vice President of the John Keells group.
He heads the information arm of John Keells as the groups Chief Information Officer and is also the CEO of John Keells IT and John Keells X as the Chief Executive.
Shanmuganathan is a Hayes-Fulbright Scholar and is currently reading for his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at the International School of Management, Paris.
Shanmuganathan started his academic career at the University of Moratuwa, graduating in Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering with a First Class honors.
He further pursued a master’s degrees in business administration from Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura as well as in Computer of Science & Information Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology in New York, USA, where he graduated with Phi Kappa Phi Honours.

He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management from Keisei International University in Seoul, South Korea.
He is also a chartered engineer and chartered IT professional and a Fellow of the British Computer Society and Institute of Engineers, UK.
