Emirates to increase its services to Colombo from 4 to 6 weekly flights

COLOMBO: Emirates has announced it will increase its services to Colombo from four to six weekly flights – with a fifth weekly flight commencing Feb. 18 (every Thursday) and a sixth weekly flight commencing Feb. 27 (every Saturday).

The two additional services will serve market demand and offer customers enhanced connectivity to/from Colombo via Dubai.

The added services will operate every Thursday and Saturday. Emirates flight EK650 will depart Dubai at 02:35hrs and arrive in Colombo 08:25hrs local time. The return flight EK651 will depart Colombo at 09:55hrs and arrive in Dubai at 13:00hrs, local time.

Customers can enjoy safe and convenient connections to more than 90 destinations within Emirates’ network, via Dubai.

Emirates’ flights to Colombo will operate utilizing the wide-body aircraft, Boeing 777-300ER. Tickets can be booked on emirates.com, Emirates sales offices, or via travel agents.

Emirates launched operations to Sri Lanka in 1986, serving the country for more than 30 years.

The airline was one of the first international airlines to resume outbound passenger flights from Colombo last year – helping facilitate travel for foreign nationals and Sri Lankans. Emirates SkyCargo – the airline’s freight division – continues to support the country by maintaining vital trade links and playing a crucial role in transporting goods to and from Colombo with four weekly cargo flights.

Customers who purchase an Emirates ticket for travel on or before June 30, can enjoy generous rebooking terms and options, if they have to change their travel plans. Customers have options to change their travel dates or extend their ticket validity for 2 years.
