Easter attack probe: Catholic Bishop’s Conference welcomes findings
COLOMBO: The Catholic Bishop’s Conference in Sri Lanka has welcomed the findings of the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry on the 2019 April 21 attacks.
In a statement, the Catholic Bishop’s Conference in Sri Lanka appealed that the Attorney General be given full power and the freedom to prosecute immediately the perpetrators, those who aided and abetted in the dastardly terrorist act and those who were found to be negligent in carrying their duties.
The Catholic Bishop’s Conference in Sri Lanka urged that the judicial mechanism be set in motion with immediate effect.
It added the 22 sensitive documents withheld from the Attorney General should be given to him as soon as possible.
