Prison warden arrested for heroin trafficking in Jaffna

Excise officials have arrested a prison guard who has been involved in heroin trafficking for some time in the Martin Street area in Jaffna.

The Excise Department says that 45 grams of heroin worth Rs. 360,000 was found in the possession of the suspect prison guard and that he had been carrying out the heroin smuggling under the cover of his uniform for some time.

According to the Army Intelligence, the raid was carried out by the Jaffna Excise Department.
