Mano Ganesan comments on Jaffna land documents controversy
COLOMBO: Tamil political leader Mano Ganesan has commended Cabinet Ministers Douglas Devananda and Mahindananda Aluthgamage following reports that they had intervened to address Jaffna residents’ concerns over land documents.
Protests have been staged in Jaffna over concerns that land documents related to the Northern Province were transferred recently to the Land Reforms Commission office in Anuradhapura under the cover of darkness during a night operation.
However, Colombo district MP Mano Ganesan commented on reports the two ministers in President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s Cabinet had acted swiftly to bring back those documents to Jaffna.
The two ministers deserve praise, if these reports are true, added Ganesan in a social media post.
