UNP’s parliament seat: ‘Ranil most suitable’
COLOMBO: Former Minister Navin Dissanayake said that Ranil Wickremesinghe, the United National Party (UNP) leader, who has been in Parliament for 40 years, is the most suitable candidate for the party’s National List Seat.
He was speaking at a media briefing in Kollupitiya.
Dissanayake said that he was the first to suggest that Ranil Wickremesinghe should be appointed as the UNP National List mmber of parliament.
Wickremesinghe, meanwhile, charged that the government had failed to increase ICU beds in hospitals despite early warnings.
Wickremesinghe said if the number of ICU beds had been increased at least as he had said a year ago, it would have been a strength to face the current situation.
