IPL: Kings XI Punjab beat Royal Challengers Bangalore
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 97 runs at Dubai International Stadium on Thursday.
“#KXIP are topping the charts in the Points Table after Match 6,” Indian Premier League tweeted.
Players from both teams wore black armbands to honor Australian batsman and cricket commentator Dean Jones.
Jones, who had been covering the Indian Premier League (IPL) from Mumbai, has died from a heart attack.
The much-delayed IPL, which was originally scheduled to start in March, moved out of India due to the coronavirus pandemic and is being played behind closed doors.
Captain KL Rahul recorded the highest-ever score by an Indian batsman in IPL history as he took Kings XI Punjab to a comfortable victory over Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.
“It was good to be in the middle and see the team through whatever we’d planned before the game,” Rahul said in remarks published in an AFP report.
Royal Challengers Bangalore were earlier looking to extend their winning streak when they took on Kings XI Punjab in their second IPL match.
