Rishad’s brother-in-law arrested over allegations of sexually abusing a 22-year-old domestic worker

Former MP Rishad Bathiudeen’s brother-in-law has been arrested over allegations of sexually abusing a 22-year-old domestic worker at the official residence of the MP between 2015-2019.

The 44 year old suspect had allegedly raped the woman during the period of 2015- 2019, according to the police.

SDIG Ajith Rohana said the raping incident was revealed when a statement was recorded from a women who served as domestic worker at the former minister’s house previously over the death of the 16 year old girl.
