Markets mostly down after US presidential debate

Markets mostly fell following a chaotic US presidential debate in which Donald Trump again suggested the election could be fraudulent.

Hopes for a second stimulus out of Washington, however, provided a little support to stock markets.

According to Reuters, Simona Gambarini, markets economist at Capital Economics, said:

“It was an angry exchange of words, but not much came out that might make investors change their mind one way or the other.”

The economist was referring to the US presidential debate.
