Rs 66 billion ‘spent so far to import COIVD-19 vaccines’
COLOMBO: The government has so far spent Rs. 66,670 million to import COVID-19 vaccines to Sri Lanka, said Dr. Prasanna Gunasena, chairman of the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
“The government has already paid Rs. 46,220 million out of this amount and another Rs. 20,450 million is yet to be paid,” he said.
“The government has also paid Rs. 427,351,794 for aircraft, cold storage and other facilities required for the importation of these vaccines,” he said.
