Adani Group secures 51% stake of West Container Terminal
India’s Adani Group has signed a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement with its local partner John Keells Holdings (JKH) and Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), to jointly develop the West Container Terminal (WCT) of the Colombo Port.
The signing event for the $700 million was held virtually.
Accordingly, the Adani Group will hold a 51% stake in the WCT while the JKH and SLPA will hold 34% and 15% respectively.
Operations of the WCT will be carried out by a new joint company named the West Container International Terminal.
