State minister Viyalendiran wins additional portfolio
COLOMBO: Batticaloa MP Sathasivam Viyalendiran from the ruling Sri Lanka Podujana Party (SLPP) has received an additional role.
He was sworn in as the State Minister of Backward Rural Areas Development and Promotion of Domestic Animal Husbandry and Minor Economic Crop Cultivation,
The swearing in took place at the Presidential Secretariat on Tuesday.
He contested the 2015 parliamentary election as one of the Tamil National Alliance electoral alliance’s candidates in Batticaloa District and was elected to the Parliament.
He, however, moved to SLPP in August 2020 general elections.
