Celebration of birth anniversary of Subramaniya Bharathiyar in Jaffna

COLOMBO: The 139th birth anniversary of India’s National Poet Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharathiyar was celebrated on Saturday following the COVID-19 guidelines.

Consul General Raakesh Natraj garlanded and paid floral tributes to the poet’s statue at Arasady Junction in Jaffna.

Jaffna Mayor V. Manivannan, Jaffna Municipal Commissioner Jeyaseelan, Jaffna Tamil Sangam President Lalisan and other dignitaries similarly garlanded the statue of Subramaniya Bharathiyar and paid floral tributes.
