Sunrisers Hyderabad rise to third place in 8-team table

Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Punjab Kings XI on Thursday in the Indian Premier League (IPL)’s 2020 edition in Dubai.

Thursday’s victory boosted Sunrisers Hyderabad to third in the eight-team table while Punjab Kings XI are stuck at the bottom with just one success from six games.

David Warner hit his 50th Indian Premier League half century as he plundered runs with Jonny Bairstow off a hapless Punjab Kings XI.

Bairstow was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding innings of 97 off 55 deliveries.

Even the fastest IPL 50 of the year by Nicholas Pooran — from 17 balls — failed to inspire Punjab who were beaten by 69 runs.

Pooran ran out of reliable partners and was out for 77 off 37 balls.

“I was getting a bit nervous when Nicholas was hitting them over the stands,” said Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Warner was quoted as saying by AFP..

“When he is hitting them that clean you have always got to worry.”
