Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka visits historic Nallur Kovil
Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zenhong made one of the rarest and significant visits in Jaffna, when he stepped into the historic Nallur Kovil in the Jaffna Peninsula.
The Ambassador was seen respecting the tradition of visiting the Kovil, where all men are required to take off their shirts to enter the premises as a sign of respect to the Gods.
It is believed that this is the first time in decades that a high-ranking Chinese Diplomat visited the historic place of worship, which is visited annually by pilgrims and devotees from across the world.
