Financial crisis, Sri Lanka closes foreign missions
Sri Lanka is verge of economic collapse and economists predict that it will bankrupt in next month.
To prevent further economic collapse, Sri Lanka is to shut three overseas Missions to cut costs and save US Dollars.
Accordingly, the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry is to close the Sri Lankan Consulate in Frankfurt, the Embassy in Nigeria, and the Sri Lankan Consulate in Cyprus.
The Sri Lankan government Ministers had an urgent meeting on Monday (13) discussing the dollar crisis facing Sri Lanka and measures that need to be taken to address the issue, Daily Mirror learns. According to sources, Sri Lanka’s urgent requirement for US Dollars had been discussed at the meeting.
