Chinese Foreign Minister scheduled to pay a visit to Port City
COLOMBO: President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is to declare open the Port City Marina Promenade to the public on Sunday.
Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is scheduled to pay a visit to Port City to participate in a ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties and the 70th anniversary of signing historic ‘Rubber-Rice Pact’ between the two countries.
Port City Marina Promenade opening is a part of the celebration along with a photo exhibition and a sailing race organized by the Sports Ministry and the Chinese Embassy.
Within a few days, people can access Port City Marina Promenade by foot from the front of the Presidential Secretariat towards the newly constructed footbridge.
As per the developers, two km stretch of beach belonging to the newly reclaimed land will be opened to the public in the second stage.
Private facility operators at Port City Colombo are already offering yacht sailing from the marina, ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) sand dunes adventure rides, jet ski water sports, beach park and an aqua golf range for the public with many more facilities to add.
