All GCE AL examination centers safe, says commissioner

COLOMBO: All examination centers where GCE A/L examinations begin on Monday are safe, said Examinations Commissioner General Sanath Pujitha.

He said this during a media briefing announcing the health measures being implemented for the examinations today and tomorrow.

Special examination centers have been set up in areas where the quarantine curfew is in force.

All students in quarantine will have special facilities where their answer scripts would be collected separately.

Currently, there are five students receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) while two of them are confirmed cases and a special examination centre would be set up for them.

The Education Ministry has specified a special plan for their identification and they are required to wear their national student identification approved by the Education Ministry on the left side of their attire, the secretary said
