Same law should be applied to Buddhist monks too: Mano Ganesan
COLOMBO: Alleged speeches made by Paster Jerome Fernando and self styled Free Thinker Nathasha Edrisinghe are being investigated. The concern of the law and order agency is understandable. Let us leave it to the judiciary.
But I wish and demand the same approach of the law and order machinery and judiciary towards the Buddhust monks who spout hate speech towards fellow Hindu, Islam and Catholic religions.
Let no religious dignitaries nor activists enjoy Impunity over their respective “bad behaviors”.
TPA leader Mano Ganesan MP said above explaiming his tweet earlier.
Tagging President Ranil Wickramasinghe, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Mano Ganesan had made following tweet;
” … If Pastor #JeromeF & now Speaker #NathashaE are breaking the law with their speech then the same law should be applied to monks who have spouted hate speech against fellow religions. The law can’t be ONE-SIDED anymore! @RW_UNP @sajithpremadasa @anuradisanayake..”
