Passenger arrested over female flight attendants’ complaint

A 38-year-old resident of Athurugiriya, who arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake on a SriLankan Airlines flight from Singapore at 10 p.m. on Saturday, has been arrested by the Airport Police for attempting to sexually abuse two female flight attendants.
The suspect, who was heavily intoxicated, made the attempt while the flight attendants were on duty.
After the incident was reported to the pilot, the BIA Control Room was informed, and upon landing, the suspect was apprehended by SriLankan Airlines security officers and taken to the Katunayake Police.
Statements from the two flight attendants detailing the incident have been recorded.
Additionally, after being presented to the Negombo Judicial Medical Officer, it was confirmed that the passenger was indeed intoxicated.
