Espionage thriller ‘Tenet’ nears $150 million globally

Christopher Nolan’s Tenet brought in an estimated $20.2 million through the holiday weekend in US and Canadian theaters, according to news reports.

The espionage thriller is already nearing the $150 million mark globally, thanks to a stronger showing at the international box office.

Overseas, Tenet earned another $78.3 million this weekend, bringing its worldwide haul to $146.2 million.

Warner Bros. said the studio was “very pleased” with initial results.

China, where Tenet premiered on Friday, pulled in more than $8 million in ticket sales on opening day and $30 million over the weekend.

Wonder Woman 1984, also from Warner Bros., is the next film gearing up to hit the big screen.
