Colombo stock market: John Keells, Hayleys share prices fall

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka stocks fell 2.63 percent on Tuesday, pushed down by LOLC Holdings, Expolanka holdings and Hayleys, brokers said.

The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index fell 198.39 points to close at 7,355.11. Economy Next reported.

The S&P SL20 index of more liquid stocks fell 2.85 per cent or 86.59 points to close at 2,955.56, Economy Next reported.

Turnover was 3.6 billion rupees with 25 stocks gaining and 162 falling.

LOLC Holdings fell 20.00 rupees to close at 321.50 rupees contributing most for ASPI’s fall, Brown and Company fell 14.50 rupees to close at 171.25 and Browns Investment fell 30 cents to close at 6.10 rupees a share, Economy Next reported.

LOLC Finance closed 30 cents down at 6 rupees.

Hayleys Plc closed 6.40 rupees down at 76.70 rupees with key subsidiaries Dipped Products falling 4.20 rupees to close at 55.50 rupees and Haycarb falling 8.50 rupees to close at 106.25 rupees.

John Keells Holdings closed 2.75 rupees down at 146.50 rupees a share and Vallibel One fell 3.70 rupees to close at 56.00 rupees a share.
