Delhi Capitals regain top spot in Indian Premier League

Delhi Capitals regained the top spot in the Indian Premier League’s points table after their comprehensive victory on Friday against Rajasthan Royals.

Delhi Capitals beat Rajasthan Royals by 46 runs and this third straight win lifted Delhi Capitals to the top of the table.

Rajasthan Royals suffered a fourth straight defeat and will welcome Ben Stokes coming out of quarantine this weekend.

Delhi Capitals put up 184-8 then strangled Rajasthan to have the match well in hand with more than seven overs left.

Rajasthan Royals fell to 82-5 after 12.1 overs and was all out for 138 with two balls left.

“We thought this might be an under-par total but the bowlers did their job,” Delhi’s Shreyas Iyer said, according to The Associated Press.

Shimron Hetmyer blasted 45 runs and took two stunning catches in the deep to lead Delhi Capitals to victory.
