Indian envoy and Sajith Premadasa discuss bilateral relations
The Indian envoy in Sri Lanka has reiterated New Delhi’s “continued commitment to strengthen India-Sri Lanka relationship for benefit of our two countries and people.”
High Commissioner Gopal Baglay’s pledge of support, highlighted in an official Twitter post, came as he called on Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa at the parliamentary complex in Colombo.
“Had a friendly chat about Indo-Sri Lanka relations with @IndiaInSL High Commissioner HE Gopal Baglay today,” the Colombo district MP and Samagi Jana Balawegaya leader (@sajithpremadasa) tweeted about the meeting.
The talks took place as politicians debated the relevance of the 13th Amendment to the constitution introduced after an agreement signed between India and Sri Lanka in 1987.
